I live at 2nd and Junipero. I understand the Bixby Park parking on 1st and 2nd will be closed to expand park. Parking is next to impossible as it is. This is a serious issue and we need someone to address and fix the problem.

I am pretty new to long beach and my apartment building which has 10 units only has parking spaces for 4. If I had known how horrible parking was here I probably would have never moved to this wonderful city.

I've lived in Alamitos Beach for almost 4 years and have always had issues with finding parking. It feels more or less like a scheme to rake in money from the exessive amount of parking tickets that are issued on a daily basis. I've paid a lot of money in LB parking tickets and meters. Where is all that money going?? Not into improving the parking situation that's for sure. It takes over my life being that anytime I plan to leave my home I have to plan to be back by a certain time or not at all just to try and beat or avoid the "parking rush". A lot of times I do take my business out of long beach simply because the parking is horrendous. I've also wasted money on having to rent a parking space in a sketchy looking parking lot that's still 4 blocks away. I'm a female and have had to walk 7+ blocks late at night sometimes through an area where cars get broken into and the homeless seem to congregate. My friends who visit have driven around for an hour at times looking for a parking spot close to my place and by the time they find one they're so stressed out and frustrated that they almost just want to go home. Something needs to be done asap. It's not fair to the hundreds of residents in these areas to keep hassling with the current parking situation.

AND who wants to come home on Tuesday & Wednesday nights in the East Village when they know they'll have to get up before 4am to move their cars to dodge the street sweeper.

I should not have to worry about finding parking and/or paying for parking in the area I live, especially if I have to call in sick to work. Who wants to move their car every two hours when they're sick?!?! HELP!!!

Forgot to mention. The link to the petition was very hard to find. This needs to be fixed, or 1000 votes will not be reached.

This is outrageous. I am still fuming about the loss of parking AND A LANE OF TRAFFIC for the bike lanes that nobody uses. We lost about 20% of parking on Broadway and 3rd.

Why are the meters in the Arts District twice as much as those in Belmont Shore? Same in that they have small businesses, same in that there are nice people, why should I pay twice as much to park in town?

People are suffering because they can't go out knowing that there won't be any parking when they return.

I know my brother lives and works in Long Beach and has commented many times that he can't park in front of his own house and sometimes even getting his driveway blocked and parking so impossible near the courthouse where he works that he has to take a bus or ride bike cause can't park. also has been hit by a car while on bike cause car was rushing for an open spot.

I own a condo at 550 Orange Ave and it is very annoying for guests or even myself/fiance to ever find parking! you literally have to be home all day. People have to work. Please help!

My search for parking often brings me to tears and places me in unsafe situations. Last night, for example, after working a long day and later than usual, I spent an hour looking for a spot - finally settling on one over half a mile away, and walking 25 minutes at 1:30am. I have been followed at night, and even had to über to my apartment from my car parked as a mile away. I've been in long beach for 3 months, and am going to move ASAP if parking doesn't improve.

This is a critical issue for our community which has been ignored by our City Government.
