Let's make our street permit parking PLEASE there are to many folks abusing our parking with more than 2 cars

One of the ways we can help clear congestion and parking issues is to have "all walks" at busier intersections (a light cycle that allows petistrians to go from any corner to any corner with no vehicles moving through the intersection, but then when vehicles have the lights no pedestrians can enter the intersection).
Also having resident parking permits valid from 6:00 pm through 8:00 am. That way the businesses can have their customers during the days then in the evenings the residents have parking options while the bars and restaurant patrons can look for the available parking.

1 year in to living in Downtown LB, and I love the city! Except...the parking situation is just unacceptable. I work a night job and it is unreasonable to park at a paid lot for an hour or two before having to move it elsewhere.

I have lived in Long Beach for ten years and have had to deal with safety issues because of the lack of parking in this city. I never had this problem in the 20 years I lived in L.A. Get a grip, Mayor. You've already disappointed me in other areas. Step up with parking.

I have received already received 5 parking tickets and I just moved to the neighborhood from Chicago in just under a month. The parking maids are rude and they falsely write tickets.

Parking sucks. The city needs to stop giving so many parking tickets. Also 15 and locust st. Alley. Needs to be rebuilt its been bad for many years and its only getting worse.

The parking situation is horrible. The city won't fix it because it generates a nice income stream for them. I call the fines a tax on us working poor. If you were to plot the parking fines given out by the city, it would be in a very small area of the city. Part of the problem could be solved by changing the parallel parking in some areas, to head in parking. For every parallel car parked, you can park to cars in that space if you change it to head in parking.

it's really sad when we can't take night classes or go anywhere at night because we'll never find a spot when we get back home. yet when i walk around, i see hearses, taxis, pest control vans, and a variety of other vehicles parked here that are not associated with any business in the area. it's sad when i see people taking up two spots and will only move their car when the person they're space-saving for returns. it's sad that my entire neighborhood lost all of its parking spots by noon last friday during the grand prix (i live over by 2nd and Falcon) and people had to double park or park on the sidewalks because the city would rather accommodate people from out of town than its own citizens. DO SOMETHING!!!!!

It sucks to come home late from work and to look for parking for almost an HR at times. It would be a lot better if we really got down to a great solution so that others won't suffer this stressing part of parking.

Parking in downtown Long Beach is a joke. It's a real financial burden for everyone in the area since we are forced to park illegally and are then ticketed for doing so.

The Parking in Long Beach is terrible, Me and my roommates will have to park in the red zone in order for us to be able to park somewhere for the night , it needs to be fix ed asap

I stay downtown Long Beach and the parking is RIDICULOUS!!!! There's been times I had to drive around for LITERALLY an hour or more just to find a park and most of those times I don't even find one!!!! Wastes gas just driving around or at times I can't even sleep at my own home because of this parking crap!!!! It needs to be FIXED

That is something that most parking study firms try first; they make the best use of all existing parking before proposing to add more. There are things that have been done in other cities to help convince private property owners to open their lots. Whether this gets done depends on who is hired and how willing the city is to follow through.
