I have a driveway but feel really bad for the people on Florida St who have to park far because of all the business on 4th. While didn't the city consider the residence who would be impacted by this!

I am a home owner across Bixby Park on Junipero and 2nd. Parking could improve by the park if people would not park wasting so much space between cars. Marking each space would help.

Groceries or carrying my 6 year old who fell asleep in the back of the car is torture when I have to walk 4-7 blocks away from home. That paired with the homeless, not the kind of long beach I want to live in, please help!

Parking is a disaster here. You literally have to be home by 4 and not leave that night to secure a parking spot.

I'm a resident in the Long Beach-Alamitos Beach area and parking is horrendous. Not to mention street closures throughout the year due to a variety of events in the city. I've been in contact with the district councilman and their has been some action taken to address the parking issues. However, the resident require and deserve a permanent solution with immediate action. As the city has developed and more people visit Long Beach, CA, we can't escape or ignore the parking issue. Please review and implement a plan-of-action that would provide immediate relief for parking in the Alamitos Beach area. Thank you!

Searching for parking everyday is a real chore. They need to open up the beach parking lot at the end of Junipero to residents.

It would be helpful if we had residents parking permits like many other areas. This will eliminate junk cars and other abandoned cars taking our parkings.

I dont get visitors at my place because they refuse to come over because there's no where to park . I regret buying the condo had I known how bad the parking was I would have not bought in that area and I would recommend people not to buy in that area ! Something has to be done !

The parking is a mess in Long beach and adding bike lanes makes no sense when you can go for a ride on board walk. Since we have bike lanes and people still ride on curb why isn't there a fine for those people on bikes or get ride of the bike lanes

Please we beg you have more sense then our Long Beach forefathers did and plan our city to accomodate its growth in ALL aspects. A lack of convenient parking hurts both residential and commercial prosperity.

Long Beach has some of the worst areas for parking in Southern California. A solution is badly needed.

Parking really is an issue that needs to be looked at and find a solution to the problem. LB keeps on building more n more living quarters but no parking???? That does not make sense

Holly, I'm just curious as to why you brought up the rainbow colored crosswalks as your only example of 'government waste.' First of all, it is not 'every crosswalk.' Only the Orange Ave, Falcon Ave, Cherry Ave, and Junipero Ave intersections are painted in rainbow colors. There is nothing wrong or wasteful in displaying some neighborhood pride. As a resident who is directly impacted by our city's parking fiasco and takes it seriously, I find your comment offensive because it is so divisive. We need to support each other if we hope to have any chance to fix this.

P.S. LOVE your idea about the APP that's perfect and wouldn't take much $ for the city to setup.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the selfish woman on my block who owns a SUPER STRETCH limo and even though she has a driveway will leave it parked on 1st btwn Orange and Esperanza taking up 3.5 spaces for 24 hours at a time during the week and worst of all the weekend! Why the hell isn't she out making money with it on the weekend?

Exactly! No one uses those bike lanes! They still ride on Ocean and Broadway like the own the street. And, a lot of times I see people riding their bikes on 1st and 2nd on the side of the street opposite the bike lane, F-ing morons.
