Fix Our Parking!

The parking is horrid and makes it so you are not free to go out and do errands at certain times of times and weekends for fear of not finding parking. It is especially horrible when the city holds events and the public use our parking instead of paying for it. The parking situation is beyond frustrating. Do something about it even if you make permit parking only in the neighborhoods.

Very sad siuation, I've paid up to $156.00 per month for off-street parking, to eliminate me driving around neighborhood for up to 20 minutes and parking 6 blocks from my condo. Shame on Long Beach City for not requiring new developments to provide enough parking for residents. The use of bicycles is not the answer, seriously how many downtown workers commute by bicycle?

My condo building at 1035 E Appleton St has 12 units & 4 garages! There is a 3 story apartment building across my street with NO garage at all! The city approved this situation and makes $ off of the desperate victims that park illegally.

Parking in our downtown location is incredibly difficult and sometimes impossible. It is a major problem for all the residents in our neighborhood. It should be a top priority that the City of Long Beach needs to address ASAP. We need help!

There are several places were the red curb is extended for no safety reason. Also some one way street are extra wide and could easily acommadate slated parking on both sides rather the paralel and slated parking. IE Appleton. You would almost double the parking

I am considering moving out of downtown Long Beach because of the lack of parking. This is the only reason why I am considering moving as soon as my lease is up because it is huge problem, I have received numerous parking tickets because there is no parking and I have no choice but to park illegally. I am a woman who lives by myself and it is dangerous for me to walk at night (this area is full of homeless and transient people) after having to park multiple blocks away from where I live because there is no parking. It is disgraceful that The Current (Ocean/Alamitos) was allowed to be constructed bringing more people into an already congested area without enough parking. So now there is yet another high rise residential building (with shops) that does not provide enough parking for each resident. I can't even have guests come to my apartment because there is NEVER any parking. On more than one occasion, my search for a parking spot took so long that I gave up and spent the night at my sister's place who lives in Bixby Knolls. I couldn't even stay in my own apartment because I could not find a parking space. This is ridiculous especially since I'm over paying for my apartment.

Please mark the parking spaces everywhere you can, there are so many people who park in the middle of 2 spaces. It would eliminate some problems. Thank you

This would help so much. I'm tired of getting home after a long day of work and taking 30 min + to find parking blocks away.

Please take the time to listen. Something needs to be done about the parking in LB. It is only going to get worse.

You are strangling positive urban renewal with the parking problem.

Saying that paying for parking is a solution is a reductive and inaccurate vision of the problem. I pay for parking monthly and am still subject to parking issues when the city decides to rent out those parking spaces for something else. In the past, this has meant that I got a $50 parking ticket because I wasn't able to use the parking area that I pay $50 a month to have access to. It's beyond ridiculous and is down right exploitative. This is an issue that the city must address.

You should not have to drive 20-30 minutes, circling the block in an attempt to find a parking spot close to your home.
