There have been changes ONLY in seeing that meters and PAY BOXES are in place to make it easier to PAY for parking. What about us residence and OUR parking diploma!

We can never go out after 5 because we know we won't find parking. Not to mention our family can never come see us because then they won't have anywhere to park. Sometimes we even need to uber home because we have to park so far away!

I live on 2nd st and Falcon and have to park my car several blocks from my place whenever I get home after 6pm. I have lived here for over 20 years and have seen the parking situation get worse as the years go by, without seeing any noticeable improvements.

The parking in downtown Long Beach is insane!!! I understand existing buildings having grandfathered in low parking to unit ratio, but to grant new developments same/similar parking requirements as past developments is simply pandering to developers. If the City if going to make all this extra Prop Tax money from the new developments, then perhaps the City makes parking meters free after 6pm, and Don't start street cleaning until after 8am. This is the fastest/cheapsest solution (w/o needing to building extra parking lots) to give both current and new incoming residents a place to park their cars after work and time in the morning before heading to work.

Alamitos Beach is at a critical point in parking, Not to mention the plan to take the parking spaces away from 1st and 2nd streets between Cherry and Junipero Avenues.

Parking is a serious issue in Long Beach. I refuse to leave my house after 4pm because I don't want to have to deal with parking. The main streets close by have 6am street sweeping or 7am no parking on some weekdays making it even more of a hassle to find adequate parking. I've had to park over a mile away from my house before and this was late at night. Long beach is not the safest of places for a young woman to be walking around alone at night.

We need painted markers on all streets not just a few in order for people to avoid over parking it is a major issue in the 6th Street and Junipero neighborhood

At the very least, plans for new buildings should have to provide adequate parking spaces for residents and businesses within the building!

Going to move when my lease ends, I live at East Appleton and Cerritos. I can not handle the frustration coming home from a long day and can not get a place to park. My landlord/owner is not happy either , tenants move because of the parking , not the building. We pay taxes, where are the police watching the streets. People get angry if you get a spot before them, they race around like crazy. Just now I saw an accident on Broadway and Cerritos, I hear the helicopter. Probably someone racing to get a parking spot they saw and didn't pay attention to the pedestrian and other cars. This is SO sad, and I wish I could stay here, but I have a newer car and don't want o pay another ticket when I park in the wrong spot during street sweep day. Your lot on Elm and Broaday is 7 blocks from my house at $45.00 a month. I have paid this, but I am a female and walking the streets at night scares me, I have pepper spray and may consider a fire arm. This is ridiculous! Maybe just better to move to Orange County, the city seems to take care of their own. I don't even want to go to city functions because of parking costs. Another function, means not moving my car in fear I can't find a place to park THREE times it had taken me 1 hour and a half to find a spot when I got home from work. I was crying and so upset. People always double park, so they can go into their apartment to go to the bathroom and get a bite to eat, they have to drive around again to find a spot, This is so sad, soemthing needs to be done, and you know it does, but who care right? We do, the tax payers and keeping property owners happy. My landlord owns 8 rental properties in the city, he is not happy.

Parking is a first-world problem, but it's still an important problem—enough for it to depict my whole lifestyle. I can't see friends or family after 6pm because I don't want to lose my spot. I want to be able to leave for work on time instead of adding 15 minutes to my commute. Think about this.

Not only is the city ignoring the problem, but they are contributing to it. I love LB, but parking continues to be a problem. Many older residential buildings do not have parking garages/spaces AND it appears that new residential buildings are not being required to have/provide the REQUIRED amount of parking per city ordinance. Residents suffer while the city benefits. Please find a solution!! And make it an affordable one!! Thank you to those of you who are getting this ball rolling!! (Also, see. ("Time to reign in the developers who exchange $$ with the city, in order to receive a waiver to allow less parking than ordinance requires."-Kimberly Rodriquez))

The city would make so much more money if they numbered the spaces and rented them out as opposed to parking tickets. You could even rent out the space at the cost of a parking ticket per month and guarantee income. Or make more parking lots and rent those spaces. I'm tired of walking 6 blocks to my apartment because of the lack of parking
