i would like to see this area have permit parking after 4pm M-F so the people who live here have a place to park. i would not have a problem with paying for this and it could generate more funds for the city. also more tickets for offendes and more city money.

The Parking situation in long beach is obviously an issue and has been for awhile. Something needs to change whether it be adding more time to the parking meters to 4hr parking instead of 2hr or lowering parking ticket fees.

Possible solutions include: stalled parking on 1st Street which is plenty wide to accommodate stalled parking on both sides of the street, permit parking for residents (at least during the week), restrictions on parking inoperable and unused vehicles on the street, marked parking spots on all parallel spots, restrictions of oversized vehicles parking overnight, looking at current red zones and evaluating the necessity of each, creating partnerships with local businesses with lots to allow residents to pay low monthly or daily fees to access their parking.

I have lived in this same address for eleven years and it's always the same problem with parking. We need a solution to this problem.

I cannot agree more with the people pointing out how utterly frustrating and taxing it is to come home after a long day at work and still have to spend anywhere from 20 minutes to over an hour looking for parking! It's ridiculous. I just want to get home and relax, or the alternative, go out somewhere! But living here, it's almost like you need to plan your outdoor life around the parking situation, considering whether the place/event you're planning/have to go to is even worth all that time that you'll need to spend looking for parking when you're back home. Not to mention that having visitors is almost completely out of the question. I love the neighborhood I live in, but parking makes it almost unbearable. Also, I can't help getting very upset at all the tickets being handed out. Exactly where can we park after a while?! The roof of a house? Or start stacking cars? For God's sake! Having to park 5 blocks away 80% of your week is bad enough. I wish the city would take a little more responsibility. (Though I have seen less of the ticket cars these past few weeks). I really hope something finally gets done! I've been living here for almost 10 years, and enough is enough already. Thank you to the people getting this organized!

As a long beach resident and tax payer, I deserve the right to have a parking space available when I come home from work. I spend my paychecks on grocery shopping in long beach as well as restaurants/ bars/retail shops. The least the city can do is provide more parking spaces for locals so more locals can gain access to spending in their own neighborhood.

I'm always battling for parking spots. I've paid over $500 in parking tickets and I'm sick of it. Unfortunately, where I live there is not enough free parking spots and if you're lucky enough to find a spot not Linden Ave then your golden otherwise you have to wait till after 6pm for free parking by the meter and it better be on the right side because street sweeping on Tuesdays and Wednesdays can get you tickets. You really have to know when and where to park to avoid a ticket in downtown long beach.

I live in the "East Village Arts District" near Linden and First and parking for guests is nearly impossible, so nobody visits. My condo unit doesn't come with parking so I am paying $ 120 month for parking. 2 years ago it was $ 85 now the same parking structure is charging $120/mo, needs to be some cap on parking rate increases as well.

1st and Hermosa. Parking is so bad that people are running stop signs to get a parking spot. Not only is this ridiculous but kids live in this neighborhood and whats going to happen when someone gets hurt or worse!

Please require new housing & retail developments to provide parking spaces corresponding to what actual need will be and please also address existing needs when planning. The current requirements are insufficient.

Thank you to all the organizers of this petition. I live next door to the new "Current" building and it has been hell And I know it will get worse when they open. Plus having street sweeping start at 4 in the morning is just a scam to shake us down for more revenue. I love LB but I don't think I can live here much longer without a solution to parking.
