Summer is here and people are back with their frickin RVs and oversized mobile homes. One in particular has been here for 2 weeks. last week they took up 2.5 spots on Esperanza for 3 days until they had to move it for street sweeping and now they are parked on 1st @ Esperanza taking up same # of spots! This thing is a monster, old, beat up and it smells! The police can't do anything but give them a ticket and let them know they have to move it in 3 days or it get's towed. So they will just keep circling the hood every 3 days. Cheap people suck. There is an RV park down off of shoreline drive by Catalina landing. UGH!

living off of temple street few blocks from 4th street where many shops and bars are located makes it difficult to come home after a long day of work park and carry on . instead i as well as many other residents drive around for over 10 minutes at times sometimes 6 -7 blocks from our place of residency looking for a space that is not marked in red along the curb to legally park. theres is way to many curbs with no sewer openings or fire hydrants marked Red the marked areas take up space of up to 2 cars in length . that is Outrageous.

I live on the corner of Ocean and Alamitos. They have recently constructed The Current and ever since then the parking has gone to s..t One thing i will say however is i have not seen as many cars ticketed lately, could it be the city is taking the parking situation seriously? I hope this petition reaches the right people, I really enjoy LB and would hate to leave it for something like parking, please figure it out.

Long Beach is becoming unlivable because of its parking. My business has failed solely because of the parking situation, and I am relocating to a different city.

My wife and I have stayed home after work many, many times - having found street parking, at last - and have NOT spent money in our community that we otherwise would have, because we weren't able to drive for fear of losing our parking spots. The lack of parking in Long Beach overall is really terrible and has already influenced our decision to ultimately leave LB for a less crowded place to live. In the downtown and Alamitos Beach areas, there are stores and restaurants that we rarely visit due to the incredible lack of convenient parking. I feel bad for the brick and mortar shops and restaurants, especially the one-off places that can't simply sell their products and services online.

Stop taking parking lots, and give us a solution to the impacted parking areas.

The appointment of a parking Czar is great news! A combination of multi-modal public-private solutions are in order as well as rent control for places that do not provide adequate parking. I'm grateful I live in the less desirable/up and coming Long Beach Senior Arts Colony community with a beautiful parking structure. I do try to conduct much of my business in the area of the greatest parking torture. I can only imagine the stress of doing it on a daily basis. I have circled the area for 45 minutes around Broadway & Falcon to go to Messy Mutts & other community businesses. I've given up trying to park to patronize some of these businesses. I will drive further for a less stressful experience. It impacts businesses & residents equally.

I think that there should be a parking permit system implemented during certain hours for those who actually live on that street. And for friends or relatives visiting with someone who lives on the street that plans to stay over for a few days, the person who lives on that street can purchase a temporary permit for a very small fee for their visitor. Also the city should find a way to create more diagonal parking spaces on some of these streets. Just my input, but something needs to be done quickly. So good luck to all my east Alamitos Beach neighbor's regarding this problem. Hopefully something positive will come out pertaining to this.

I have never seen such parking problem in my entire life. Why can't we have more parking garages?

Having moved to LB 4 years ago, I really didn't notice how bad the parking situation until I was forced to move from DTLB to a few blocks away. I've always wanted to live right in downtown LB but that meant not owning a car as most apartments do not offer parking. While living just 15 blocks from DTLB with parking is nice, it doesn't feel as DTLB living. If there's anything you can do to fix our parking problem. It's not a situation, it's a problem.

Parking in our area is ridiculous! You shouldn't have to spend over an hour looking for a place to park that is within a reasonable walk to your home... Some nights it's up to around a mile walk from where I find parking.

I live in Bixby Knolls and would love to go downtown more often for shopping and restaurants. However, I more or less avoid it like a plague because there is either no parking or the parking available is far away &/or expensive.

Let's hope something can be done. Everyday parking is very, very limited and the special events make parking non-existent. City of Long Beach please make better planning/parking decisions.
