I love my apartment and the location, right near Dowtown Long Beach. However, my husband and I are planning on leaving once our lease ends dues to parking issues. It is always a worry coming home at night not knowing if we will find parking, and then spending over an hour trying to find it. Sometimes we have to sleep over our parent's house if we don't find any. Other people are inconsiderate and take up a lot of space when there could easily have been an extra spot for another car had they parked properly. Also, motorcycles take up a space that a car could fit in. There are lots of curbs painted red in random spots where there is no bus stop, fire hydrant, or busy traffic. Parking has become very stressful and a definite turn off for the lovely city of Long Beach.

Parking shouldn't be something that is regularly on your mind and the reason you plan to leave for home early every night. But it is. Pease help create more of the relaxed vibe LB already has in so many other ways!!

Tired of coming home from work and having to circle the block several times to find parking. I often have to park and pay a meter, which I think is totally unfair. I live close to berlin and often their customers bogart available spaces. BTW what is the huge parking structure that is located on 4th and elm used for?

PLEASE fix the parking. If nothing else, paint the parking spots on side streets so people know they can't tale 2 spaces saving one for their family. At least if would be an equal race to have parking.

Parking is extremely scarce in the neighborhood (including meter parking & lots that offer short-term or monthly permits for residents and visitors).

I have lived here over 13 yeas and the parking is worse. The city receives enough revenue from the film industry. Parking near residential communities should not have metered parking. The metered parking should be required in the commercial area if at all.

I'm all for this petition! I just moved here from LA a year ago and I love my apartment, but the main reason I will consider leaving is the parking!...which is the same complaint I hear from everyone. At the very least I should be able to find a parking spot where I live!

I live in Olive and 5th St . And every day I struggle with parking. Every time I leave to work or out with my family I know that by the time I come back home it will take me at least 30min looking for a place to park my car.

I moved to Long Beach a year ago and the parking is getting more challenging. I live in the Alamitos beach area on 1st street/Cerritos. I notice when there are big events the attendees park in our parking leaving us with out parking. For example, the last event the Long Beach Pride I saw so many people parking in our parking because they did not want to pay the 25.00 parking garage fee. I had to park my car at the Westin hotel garage and pay 24.00 for overnight parking. I think the city should implement the below. Assign parking stickers to residents with one visitor sticker. Residents that have a garage or building provides parking should only get a visitor parking Business that are around the resident’s buildings should only get a limited marked parking’s I believe by implementing the below it will prevent event goers from parking in our limited parking’s and help with the parking issue.

I have been in Bluff Heights for over ten years now and it's always been an issue, I never go out at night after getting home from work because i'm guaranteed not to find parking for several blocks from my place, even on the weekends it's an issue, can't go out at night because i will come home to no parking just driving around late at night with no where to park. Not to mention those neighbors that take two spots to save one for their friend or roommates. It's very frustrating.

Some ideas: mark ALL parallel spaces not just the metered parallel spaces. Permit or zone parking available for residents. Parking in businesses after 6pm Build a parking garage in alamitos area, downtown is too far.

We need to have the spaces marked. People keep taking up two spots in order to save a place for a guest, roommate or spouse. It's rediculous.

It's really horrible on 4th. I rarely go over there b/c there is no parking and I don't feel like paying for uber or lyft
