O2 is a program that offers experience in workforce for the kids that aren't sure what they want to be, want a head start on their career, or want help with finding what they like. This program is given $8000 per year for trips, certifications, charity events, and extra things around the school. That was until recently, our budget was cut by 69% meaning we only get $2500 per year now. Doing things as little as first aid certifications take almost half the budget. Please help us bring our budget back by signing and/or chipping in a little. It would mean a lot.
This is ridiculous, I'm sure they could find other things to cut. I will support this program anyway I can

Without the funding Lauren would not have been able to acquire the necessary qualifications to do her co-op placement. The funding is also used to teach the students planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of events and projects, community outreach skills, and confidence building activities. These are real world skills! Reduced funding will translate to double the work required by the teaching staff because of their passion for this program as they try to maintain the same level of service and opportunity to new and existing O2 students. ALL O2 programs have been cut meaning they will ALL be looking for alternative funding opportunities through community grants, which will also have an effect on other community programs. Sign this petition! A 69% cut is unbelievable!
