It's not fair to switch an agreement's terms once you alone have decided it needs changed. That's why IUP has the letters "I" and "U."

I am a psyc major and part of my major is the requirement of a minor. Because of this change i am restricted to only 15 credits a semester because I simply cannot afford more than that. This change has caused me to expect another semester to year of time at school before i complete my undergrad.

I agree. My son will be a senior next year. This is totally unfair to those students who already been there. They should be grandfathered in to the flat rate. You want to change then it should occur with the new incoming students. You have priced yourself out of state school rates.

As a student with more than 120 credits starting next semester since I am a dual degree student, this really affects me and I would like to see a drastic change in the terms of the new system.

One of the biggest reasons I came to IUP is because it was so affordable, however with this new pay per credit pilot I may be struggling more than I could have ever imagined.

As an incoming transfer, I can't imagine how it feels to be a current student and to receive the blow this price change may cause. It is unfair to the students as a whole. IUP gets enough money from the student already. It is no time to be greedy and to potentially ruin the student's goals due to something as ridiculous like this price change.

Why do we need such an increase? Is it to raise teacher salaries, fund events, build new buildings, fund party raiding coalitions....? Honestly if they wanted to do something positive there would be a thorough explanation of where all this extra money would go.

This is a PASSHE school. If the state finances it, the state should dictate its prices. Audits and fiscal reports should be made public if not already.

This is unfair for currently enrolled students. This type of tuition plan is not what they agreed upon. Many probably would have chosen a different college due to this tuition system and you may lose a large chunk of your student body to this if they choose to take their education elsewhere.

I came to Iup first and foremost because it is an amazing school for the profession that I wish to pursue but also because my family and I agreed that this was a financially reasonable place for me to receive an eduction. I feel that if I am expected to pay per credit, I should be informed of this before making my decision to attend this university. I hope to be able to continue to study here and receive a high quality education, however my major requires me to take more credits than many other majors. If this change is implemented, I may regretably be forced to leave this university which will in turn take a toll on my future. Being asked to pay per credit is unfair to spring on current students because we were not informed of this change before committing to attend. If I were forced to leave I would be EXTREMELY upset because of the quality instruction and relationships I have relieved however I may have no choice. Please don't force me to make this decision.

Wondering how this will affect a NJ resident student who will be undertaking duel majors in sophomore year. The 1st choice to go to IUP was for the Music department and its outstanding faculty. The out of state resident discount was 2nd. Don't know if we can afford higher rates from this decision. :(

This is ABSOLUTLY ridiculous! I was going to transfer here after community college but you can forget that, AND MY MONEY! Milking you paying students, thrusting them into deeper financial debt, under the guise of "making it more affordable."
