This road is one of the most poorly maintained in Wake County, and is dangerous, costly to citizens, and aesthetically miserable. I drive this road from 12 Oaks to AFMS with 2 middle school children. It is totally unsafe, absolutely no room for error, with no shoulder. This is the route that at least 3 buses that take kids to/from school. There are multiple large businesses under construction that will employ 100's to soon make the issue even more challenging.

Friendship Road is quickly deteriorating with the amount of traffic that is currently utilizing this corridor. Major improvements to this road are needed and are past due. With the addition of Amgen, a new elementary school, and several developments along this road will lead to increased traffic and further road deterioration. This has become a major feeder that connects Holly Springs with Apex and as such should be redesigned to accommodate the increased traffic and vehicle loads.

I don't believe anyone has addressed the fact that friendship road was repaved, not too many years ago. It was a TERRIBLE paving job! I don't know if a cheaper or experimental pavement process was used, but it was evident from day 1. Very rough, noisy, and it began crumbling in places almost immediately. My son goes to Baucom, and I am appalled that his bus has to come down this road. In addition, since the new school opened, my parents who still live off Friendship Road, have waited behind a line of 20-30 cars to get out onto Old US 1...in the morning...afternoon, and even as late as 5:30-=6:00pm. Any plans to connect Holland Road and Friendship Road, and install a traffic light, need to come sooner, rather than later! New pavement, turn lanes, and any improvements have been too long in coming and once Amgen opens it is going to get a lot worse. Also, what about evacuation routes if something goes wrong at Shearon Harris? Friendship Road will be locked down with traffic! It's a big ugly situation and getting worse by the minute.

The roads around this school need to be fixed. It's dangerous and the neighbors deserve to have the school not impede access to their homes!

I drive this section of Friendship road daily to Baucom. It is very nerve wracking to drive and frustrating to sit in long lines of traffic because one car is trying to turn left onto Old US 1. I am not the only parent worried about busses driving on this road too.

I am especially concerned about cyclist safety and the overall road conditions as there is no shoulder, many blind curves or hills, and the amount of traffic has increased exponentially over the past 8 years.

This road is overdue for changes. I have prohibited my student drivers from using this route at peak traffic times due specifically to the danger of turning onto Old Hwy 1 from Friendship Road at these times.
