Complete con; loans taken out in good faith only to be let down and ripped off by the bank. Disgusting.

The decision to not have passed on low interest rates on variable rate account is totally unjust. First Plus (Barclays) is responsible for the negative equity on my family home

After 10 years of paying my loan has only reduced. By £2000 pound on a £20,000 loan. I'm discussed and want something doing. I'll start by logging an official complaint with first plus even if they won't do anything.

So called variable rate has only ever spiraled in one direction...up despite maintaining payments for past 13 years. Front loaded interest on loan means that balance has not reduced any. Unable to claim PPI back due to collapse in Norton Finance. Arrgh

I too have been duped by First Plus in that I took a £50,000 20-year secured loan from First Plus in 2005, a decade ago and through all this time my interest rate has never gone down BUT up in line with the base rate. I have been complaining to them until now 'why is it that every time the BoE base rate went up they were quick to increase my rate/premium but NEVER reduce it when BoE has been dropping to all time low?' I am always give the excuse that FirstPlus does not have to use the BoE base rate to calculate their rates for their customers. I have been paying on average around £490 a month for a decade now totaling £58,800, but when I recently asked them about a settlement figure I was told I owe about £48,000. When I asked why, I was told that the loan amount only starts reducing towards the end of the term of the loan. CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

This loan has crippled us and still is. We tried to make overpayments but the charges were extortionate. Our interest rate has kept increasing but has never reduced over the 6 years we have had the loan. It is very unfair.

I cannot believe that such unfair terms have been allowed to prevail. I have reborrowed the balance of the loan to save 3 years of payments at their extorsionate not so variable rates

I would never have taken a loan out with First Plus had all the details been explained properly. They have already paid the PPI back to the account, but even though we have already been into court, they have refused to give us a settlement figure. The only constant is the complete inaccuracy of their figures over the past 6 years, since our complaint against the was started.
