Re: Letter in Support of Zoning Hearing Application No. Z2021000116 (the “Application”) / The First Baptist Church of Westwood Lake, Inc.
Dear Community Zoning Appeals Board Members:
The purpose of this letter is to express our support for the Application filed by The First Baptist Church of Westwood Lake, Inc. (the “Church”), which requests the approval of a revised set of plans which includes the proposed construction of a 2-story church and worship center for religious education, and the construction of a single-family residence for the pastor. There are no changes being proposed to the underlying approved day care center and private school (K – 12). The proposed 2-story church and worship center for religious education is to contain ±42,012 sq. ft. and be constructed towards the northwest corner of the Property adjacent to SW 56th Street and SW 120th Avenue. The proposed single-family residence is to be constructed on the southeasterly 5 acres of the Property and will face SW 118th Avenue.
We wish to be on record that we are in full support of the Application in its entirety. The new church and worship center will provide parishioners, students and parents with a state-of-the-art sanctuary and chapel facility as well as school classrooms for its religious education program. We are excited for this next phase of the Church’s, and Christian School evolution and urge the Community Zoning Appeals Board to support this request.
