I don't want someone so unprofessional and intolerant at our school threatening the safety of others.

Three freshmen students made threats against 11 students, they were immediately removed from the school and all Voke parents were informed by robo call. A teacher makes racist and threatening remarks which apply to every student and faculty of color (a great deal more than 11) and he is still a member of the GNBRVTHS community and parents have to find out about this through social media. Is the school planning to only have white and Portuguese students in his class? I know if my son has him for math in the fall, I will be there demanding he be moved to a class where he can be successful. How can the administration believe that Lino Cabral can be an effective teacher when he has clearly stated that he feels all blacks only want to be rappers, in a gang or on welfare. How can the administration ensure us parents that this ignorance does not manifest itself in his classroom?

I don't feel comfortable with his comments. Although he has apologized he still feels that way in his heart. When he has a black student he will be looking down on him, judging him and that student will not get a fair chance.

This is digusting. I feel my civil rights have been violated by the school choosing this racist over my safety.

No person who looks so down upon his students should be teaching them. He is shameful and needs to be held accountable.

We need to be the voice and reason behind this teacher no longer servicing our students. #getridoflinocabral

I'm so glad that the community is taking a stand towards this. This is unacceptable and very ignorant for someone to say. You are a teacher and role model not only inside the building but outside as well. Behavior like this is completely absurd in this day and age where racial diversity is so much more predominant. So sad that after all that people have fought for this mind set still exists.

This is a public issue and it needs to be addressed publicly. GNB Voc-Tech teacher Lino Cabral used a public forum to express his deep rooted racism and violent intent. When the issue gained headway he issued a forced apology. (as if he had a choice) Voc-Tech Superintendent Linda Enos said that the school is planning to include future tolerance programs. Now is NOT the time to START planning. An action must take place. He must be removed. This man is STILL employed!! Enos said he has been disciplined but declined to describe the nature of his discipline. I believe the public now has a responsibility to remind our school administrators what will and will NOT BE TOLORATED at our schools.

Please, stop the dehumanizing of young students of color and remove those teachers like Lino Cabral who destroy the self-esteem of these youths.
