We, the undersigned, as parents, taxpayers and concerned citizens of Tangipahoa Parish, do hereby petition the Tangipahoa Parish School Board to immediately relieve Mr. Mark Kolwe of his duties as Superintendant. We believe Mr. Kolwe has been negligent in the operation of the Tangipahoa Parish School System and has mismanaged the financial resources, resulting in a dramatic decline in student test score standings statewide and a deterioration of educational facilities in many parts of the parish.
We believe the overwhelming defeat of the recently proposed massive tax to fund Mr. Kolwe's plan to improve our schools indicates that sweeping changes need to be made, starting at the top. We believe the countless dollars and hours of time that have been wasted trying to satisfy the court order to desegregate the school system, and the resounding rejection of this plan, is a dismal failure on Mr. Kolwe's part. We believe the time has come for new leadership.

The feedback from people across the parish confirms that the frustration with the school system runs deep. I have been spending my nights compiling the reports of mismanagement and it is exhausting to see the scale of the neglect. We are not walking away from this because our students deserve better than what is currently happening.

The schools are falling apart and our kids test scores are a joke. Its time for a change at the top.
Ridiculous how much money has been wasted. My kids deserve better than this.
