It's an absolute outrage that any professional ( be it athlete, or otherwise ) would use "company time" to protest a personal issue....and what's worse, single out the only player in his locker room that had the integrity, strength of mind, and to be blunt, BALLS to go against his wishes... These players are payed ( quite well at that ) to play a sport for the entertainment of every fan that tunes in to watch. I'm not sure how my fellow Americans feel, but I'm sure most would agree that there is enough garbage and negativity on television during the week to put people at odds with one another. Quit politicizing professional sports. After all, watching professional athletes do what they do is supposed to be a temporary escape for fans to indulge in.....get away from the weekly grind for a few hours on Sunday afternoon. I understand that there are issues that need to be addressed in our great nation and that everyone has an opinion that should matter....I just object to the manner in which they're being voiced.... Let's keep Sundays reserved for God, family, and of course.......football. Leave politics and personal agenda out of it

Thanks to this great country, this person has the opportunity to coach football at the highest level and earn a big check yet he refuses to acknowledge the pledge of allegiance and our flag which stand for the very freedom that has blessed him with such a prosperous life.

You should never criticise a decorated veteran who knowingly put himself in harm's way to protect others. What has Tomlin ever done that would give him the idea that he has the right. Shame on him.

Tomlin just cost the team 10's if not hundred's of millions in lost revenue from fleeing fans. He's an un-American dolt.

I am horrified by his ignorant criticism of Villanueva, a brave American Army Ranger. How twisted is that! He's a lousy coach anyway, cut him loose!

He has to go. A disciplined team focus is on the opposition on game day, not some half ass political statement. Solidarity really a bronze star hero alone while his teammates are in the locker room.

What a low point for this great American team.

His only success was with a team built by Cowher. Him allowing the team to decide, regarding staying in the lockeroom during the anthem, is indicative of his lack of leadership.

Your postgame criticism of Villanueva standing for the National Anthem was 100% classless!!! His serving in the military is why you can be a horrible NFL coach!!!

Tomlin should be fired and Alejandro should ask to be traded. Rooney II is a disgrace to his family name.

Extreme disrespect for speaking against a player who stood for the national anthem. You are a disgrace.
