Here's our horrible experience of poor internet connection in this location and we are profoundly deaf.

We cannot get broadband or DSL in our area and I know for a fact it's available just up the road from us in both directions. All companies are not willing to run the cables further so everyone can benefit. So we are currently stuck with a satellite or wireless Internet provider who knows we can't get anything else and they take advantage. They are avoid to help with any internet connection problems we have! We need broadband asap!

I bought a house in 2009 and didn't realize about the internet connection problem until something happened. Slow internet means poor 911 response when most of us believe that if we have an emergency, we can call 9-1-1 to get help. But that wasn't true for Tammy Kolberg. So when she needed medical help after an auto accident she was involved in near our home, it was a neighbor, fortunately, who called for her. We had tried twice to call 911 using internet connection to get medical help for Tammy, but it failed both times due to a poor bandwidth connection. Right now, we are in fear and worriesome when emergency happens.

We must reply on a live video connection to an interpreter in order to have a conversation with someone out of sight. The interpreter is able to speak to the distant party and "sign" the conversation with us. The interpreter is not always immediately available, though, and the internet connection can be "jerky" due to low bandwidth. This has caused errors and miscommunication because the picture cannot maintain its intergerity. Not the best of world.

The Verizon utility is less than 3 miles from our home. There are over 40 homes that would get services if available. I have spoken with Verizon reps for over 6 years. They only say it's not availble and refuse to run the line. I have to struggle with poor internet connection and please bring broadband!

Spotsylvania and Louisa are remote from an internet perspective, but we point out that everyone needs more speed on upload, everyone needs more access, not just a special few.
