Cutting forestry releases CO2, and destroys our only international credits, carbon credits.

Where Coillte = once sitka spruce on upland boglands = now spinning white skeletons on the same lands it amounts to a double rape of once pure landscapes. Stop this madness indeed. It is all GREED - see this week an Israeli company, Enlight Renewable Energy Ltd, buying a start up Irish windfarm (unspecified location in the North West) for 100 million shekels citing as a reason that Ireland had “very supportive regulation for wind power". All the blah from the government about green energy / reducing carbon emissions etc is just a smoke screen for developer greed....

Entering Co Donegal now from the West that first image is Wind Turbines, Blades turning and this is just the view, then the flicker, the noise, the water contamination, the devaluation of homes and farmland for miles around, wildlife displacement due to the acres or trees that were planted by Coillte through the years that have to be cut down, to allow for tonnes of concrete to be poured into the landscape. How can this be allowed? This is what the local person is asking and communities are fighting to preserve. The Wild Atlantic Way that has been promoted in so many countries is now being desecrated along every route.

Please don't entertain the wind farm developers - we want to keep our area the way it is - beautiful. I don't want to see it blighted by turbines. Our forestry will be destroyed and we will never get back what we had. Don't allow Coilkte land to be used.

Wind Energy is not working at any level. Coillte should take note that the Irish People have woken up. Communities all over Ireland will not endorse this disgraceful waste of tax payers money and the destruction of our beautiful countryside

For a semi state company to invest in what could lead to real losses for the people forced to live beside them is a disgrace. If Coillte care about saving the planet then do what their good at and plant new trees which will reduce Co2 unlike errecting Industrial Machines which have little effect on reducing Co2. PLANT TREES NOT TURBINES.

If Coillte is so interested in the Wind Farm industry, why isn't it investing in research to find out the damage being done to the environment, as well as to the people/wildlife and fauna living in the local of wind farms? Being interested in a quick buck, without understanding the impact to this country benefits no one. You're going against your own mission statement "Coillte's core purpose is to enrich lives locally, nationally and globally through the innovative and sustainable management of natural resources" Shame on you, Coillte

Destroying forests is not in the best interests of the people that you hold them in trust for.

This should not be happening. If the plans go ahead it will have a detrimental effect on everyone's health. Our government should hang their heads in shame
