This year (2011), the Finnish Migration changed their system of extending visas for international students in Finland. With the new system, we have to wait about 9 months for the new visa to be issued, which is TOO LONG. Since many students have to visit their home countries, in addition many are interested in visiting other countries in Europe. Therefore, we ask the Finnish authorities to speed up the process of extending visas for international students in Finland.

It is overwhelming to realize how many of us are struggling with this waiting period in silence. I am looking into the best way to present these concerns to the authorities so that they cannot continue to ignore us.

Ridiculous wait times. Finland wants to attract talent but then makes it impossible to even travel during holidays. Sort it out.

9 months is just ridiculous. how is anyone supposed to plan their life or even travel home to see family with this kind of delay? fix this mess.

totally agree. i have been stuck waiting for months and it makes everything so stressful. we are students, not criminals!
