Final supporters
For years now the Terre Haute skate park has been left unfinished, as the years pasted they said they were working on it. But it been around 8 years and no progress has shown. The park finished could bring more to the Town such as contest, skate demos, and skate shops. An in the past year they had the money to help pay for aquatic center. But they couldn't add on another section on or even a bathroom.

The city officials finally have to look at this momentum because we are tired of their empty promises. They found money for a fancy aquatic center while letting our skate park rot for eight years. This surge in support proves they cannot ignore us any longer.

It's been years since they built the park, and every year they just keep saying next summer and nothing changes. It would be nice to not have to walk to the gas station or drive there just to use the bathroom
Hope this brings some attention to our local government! Would love to see them expand the park and maybe add a "kiddie section" for the little ones. If they keep it busy, they will also be keeping it safe, and we definitely need more fun, safe, and free activities around here!
As a local skater in the area I know first hand what it's like to be at this park. It's a fun and friendly experience for almost everyone who goes there. Even if you're just starting out on a board or even a bike, scooter, you name it people are encouraging you to ride around and hang out, or simply get better. It's a great thing to see a group of people leave this place and say "Let's make sure it doesn't look like trash here" before they leave. Adding on to this park would just make more kids want to come out and have fun even if they're not there for the sport side of things! It's a great place that needs to be expanded upon!
As a local business owner that caters to the high school crowd I agree that we need more activities for the youth in town! Terre Haute had more offerings such as pools and even free movie screenings for the youth, but as time goes on that money disappears into what is supposed to be what is "good for the local economy" but ends up taking more money from the local economy while making a few richer. If you want businesses to move here and you want youth to stop moving away when they graduate high school these kind of things NEED to be here!
I'm sick of the Terre Huate officials claiming they will add to the park yet they have made no real effort into adding the new phases. It's about time we get what we were told we would get 8-9 years ago.

This park is rad, and there is more room to continue. I would make the drive from West Lafayette much more often!

Please finish the skate park we were promised we would get. I was there for the very first meeting and view of the blue prints and we got less than a fourth of what was shown to us at the meeting. Plus the aquatic center is a waste of money both terre haute high schools have pools in them.
