The Huskys Football and Cheer Organization was started in March 2011. The reason for this petition is as follows: The county and the city can not find the program a field where they can play and practice on and call home. There is, however, another league in the same town that is a football program that has usage of the two football fields in the city of North Port. We have been given the opportunity to play opposite of the other football organization's games for our home games ONLY. We do not understand why the city and/or the county would allow a child's organization to fail just because they cannot locate that organization a field to practice and play on. Since there are two fields, why can we not have one of them for games and practices. The local soccer league has 6 fields and one of those fields was once a football field and between the 2 football organizations, we have double the amount of participants than soccer. The old field, (Butler), we believe should be the NEW HUSKYS HOME FIELD. As taxpayers for ALL recreational fields located in the city of North Port, we believe that this organziation is entitled to the same privelges that other organzations have available in the city of North Port. We are NOT requesting a NEW field. We are requesting the use of an already built field that was previously used for the sport of football.
