It's quite sad that everyone is sitting at home enjoying all this entertainment yet the people who created it are suffering. I'm a performer myself and imagine if I didn't have any other form of income or support? Where would I be? This is a necessary initiative, especially for new artists and upcoming artists.

Hi Iam the theatre practioner basein KZN I have been in the industry for the past 25 years .why i want to be apart of this petition it just iam one of the South African citizen who is self employedand i have children to support also iam a family man due to the fact that this global coronavirus pread my project that iam doing with the German company has been cancell as we were on the middle of the projects I lost a lot of the money eg for Materials and rehersal of the project . The project was supposed to start practical on May but the other processes were started as from last year December .I just wanted the department of arts and culture to assist with financial aid so that I can leave and support my family since the my job bigest has been cancell and I dont have any means of getting money without my craft

Thank you for taking a step to represent us, we are in a bad space, suffered great loss of shows being cancelled and projects grants not coming through. It is very difficult, we ask for support from our government so we can survive & carry on with the work we do to uplift and improve the lives of people.

as an artist this virus destroy our future because our gigs and Events are cancelled,so in this 21 DAYS shirt down how can we sarvive without money?please the Goverment must do something to help Artist's in this situation

Yes as creative industry we can't survive without gigs and events as our source of income as u know during this Covid 19 all events suspended. We really need this funds

We are battling already, the shutdown removes the few brands we where earning

The covid 19 has affected my work and my income as I'm an freelancing artist and I depend on events, theatre shows and corporate shows to make a living.... Now that everything is being shut down and no events happening im left stranded with a wife a son. We have a rent to pay plus our daily living bases like groceries, toiletries etc. I would really appreciate it if our government could help us out in this as artist and give us some monthly allowance.

I care about Creative Arts and we should start to recognise and appreciate it as compare to other Career that one can pursue.
