Greenhithe is suffocating with so much rapid development and we do not have the infrastructure to cope.

The design is abhorrent and will be of detriment to the estate.... A 14 storie building would be better sittuated back from the river and maybe just a pier with a restaurant/ bar be built on the river....please do not build that proposed monstrosity

What a fantastic view and relaxation that will all be taken away from us! How claustrophobic will that be!

this is not acceptable to those that originally brought a waterside property, only to have that taken away and their own property devalued!

As a resident since April 2009 I still object to the proposed developments in the river since these will be out of the current building line along the riverside, it seems to be pure greed on Crest's part to continue with these proposals.
A 16 storey apartment block will completely dominate the skyline to the detriment of ALL existing residents along the riverside completely destroying current views and tranquillity such as the enjoyment of the riverside for walking and fishing activities. Additionally the 3 storey terraced houses will destroy the current scenic view for all of those on lower levels in each block.
It would be far more suitable and in keeping to develop the pier with landscaped green areas and seating to preserve the current tranquillity and wildlife within the area, and possibly to create a low rise development with both commercial and community facilities and visitor parking alongside the Public Hard to enhance the area and the values of all our properties rather than impacting upon them.

the residents of ingress park have been greatly taken advantage of with the proposed building expansion. Many people were either not told about it or made to feel that they wouldn't not be affected when in fact they are.
Also, with the proposed expansion it will put even more pressure on an already stressed parking situation.

Take a look at paragraph 4:15 of Crest's own planning application planning statement. It refers to the "views and grand vistas afforded by the site"
http://publicaccess.dartford.gov.uk/online-applications/files/8407D13E812C37D41DCD5DBC511B7A5B/pdf/08_01601_FUL-PLANNING_STATEMENT-100527658.pdf
How on earth they can stand by this statement when they are proposing a 4 storey terrace of houses to almost completely block the river from all but those that live in the proposed houses. The only access to the river views will by down a narrow alleyway between the houses.
Let's hope Dartford Council revisit it's own planning brief dated November 1998 and in particular this section:
SITE FEATURES
31.
The development should take account
of the following features of the
site:
•
Ingress Abbey and a number of
other structures and features
are listed as being of architect
ural or historic interest. They
should be restored and suitably integrated into the scheme.
Other identified garden features should also be retained where
possible (see appendix). The Abbey could form the centrepiece
of an avenue leading down to the River;
•
the river aspect - development should take full advantage of
this. A landscaped riverside public walkway, cycle path and
open spaces are key requirements. Consideration should also
be given to the leisure potential of the River;
•
views - advantage should be taken
of the grand vistas afforded
by the site, in particular
views of QE2 Bridge

The plan for the 16 storey block right on the river is shocking! What about the existing residents' views (which is what they paid for)?! I was told when I bought my place a few months back that existing residents knew about all the plans when they bought their properties and were not opposed to it, however, as the comments here clearly show this is not true. Also, there are no proper amenities for us at the moment so before building more such buildings these things should be sorted out first!!
Preserve what we have
Clearly no consideration for existing residents.
