I've been working with the ad, film and music community for 30 years here in San Antonio. We really need the boost to our economy that the incentives could bring. I believe now is the time.

San Antonio has a lot of potential to become one of the best cities in the US for a filmmaker. The indie film community is growing strong, but we need to be able to compete with other cities and states that offer much better incentives for larger productions. The local film grant is a great start, but it would be great to see something like the Texas Film Production Fund offered through the Austin Film Society where a total pool of incentive funds are distributed amongst several projects instead of just one.
San Antonio has the potential, but we need the right support and tools to take it to another level.

I'm a film student and aspiring filmmaker, haveing better film opportunities would keep me in San Antonio. Otherwise, I will have to move elsewhere to find work.
