We are Entertainment Industry Professionals working in the San Antonio-area with no affiliations to the San Antonio Film Commission or it's employees, and we are requesting the following initiatives:
1) To revamp the City's local "Incentive Program" so that San Antonio can compete nationally for Film, Television, Advertising, Gaming/Interactive, Theater & Music Productions.
2) To provide City support for the creation of a "Production Hub" to serve as a focal point for production activities occurring locally — Offices, Vendor Space and "Studio" Facilities — thereby fostering more economic activity from the Professional Entertainment Production Industry.

The growth of this movement has caught the attention of the City Council economic development office. I am currently coordinating a time to present our proposal for the local incentive program and the production hub project directly to their representatives.

More film production in San Antonio will not only bring more money to South Texas, but it will also raise our city's profile nationally and internationally. With the current political issues in both Georgia and North Carolina the time to act is now.
As an emerging performer from SA, it would be ideal to have the opportunity to have my music videos and music productions created in an SA Production Hub to further showcase the rich artistic talent which resides here!
San Antonio would be a very strong venue for film with proper support--a diverse population, more stability in most areas than many faster growing cities, such as Austin--variety in architecture running the gamut--support this for its economic as well as creative impact
The homegrown talent needs to be nurtured so that it does not have to go elsewhere to flourish. We are blessed with bilingual/bi-cultural assets that should be recognized and appreciated.
as a screenwriter, Director and Producer, the format as it is now is not working. A change is necessary to foster better relations between San Antonio Artists and the community in which we live.
We need incentives which will create jobs.
SA can and should be a production hub for TV and Film especially seeing how the City and the SA TV/Film industry leaders are working together.

There is a treasure-trove of talent in the San Antonio area--but very little opportunities to use acting and musical theatre skills. So the talent usually goes elsewhere for work. We need these initiatives in place ASAP to keep talent here.
