- About a month ago, not long after we had been together for a year, my girlfriend (Cadence Pierce- 16) and I (Connor Seelye- 17) discovered she was pregnant. After the initial scare between us, we went on to telling the people that needed to know, my mom her mom, dad ect. My mom and I suggested to them that we explore our options seeing as how young we are. Since then her mother and father said she was on "lock-down" and I was only able to see her on Saturdays, once a week, for about 4-5 hours. Recently I suggested she live with my family, in our house, so we can get on our feet and get our lives together, to bring our child into this world prepared. She lives with her parents now, in a very isolated location and in a very small house with little to no job opportunities for a person her age and goes to a school where she gets picked on/harassed daily for being pregnant. I suggested to her that she move here Into my house which, while not huge, has a lot more space and is in town where there are many opportunities to work and save up money for our future child (be it Mcdonald's or anywhere, a starting job is a job). There is also better schooling that won't put the stress her current one does now, which can cause many of health problems for a growing baby in the womb. Her parents found out I had asked her and completely banned me from being around her or my growing child (it may not be born, but being there to see her and him/her get bigger is a great thing I think every mother and father should experience) she is 16 almost 17 and we are very much in love and ready to grow and become independent no matter how difficult the future may be. I ask to sign this petition so they may see how wrong their actions in keeping us away from each other really are.
