This is a great upset, having gone through our course being taken away from us it’s so disappointing to hear a vital resource is being stripped away from the university.

As the Award Leader for the Games Art course it is vital that the art shop is staffed by those who know what they're talking about. Students require the help and advice when sourcing supplies. This must stay.

Literally; I have no idea how i'd have made last year if I didn't receive the qualified help I did from Jo and Jim. I had painting boards I had to buy with no knowledge on what would work, endless tools and supplies that i'd not even heard of and of course, they would always simply pass over and explain exactly what I needed. I don't want to lose valuable members of our society.

I studied fine art at staffs including my foundation year and I bought everything I needed from the art shop. I fondly remember Jo in particular! It’s ridiculous to suggest giving their jobs away to others in this way! They need to be kept on forever and failing that should train up new staff for 6 months prior to retirement when they physically can’t do the job anymore!

I’ve received many helpful advices from Jo and Jim about the materials that I needed. E.g. they know the best green hue for green screen, they know how to use modelling clay and what wires to use for a particular piece of artwork.

University fees are used to pay massive salaries to Vice Chancellors etc. They should be ashamed of this step being taken. Save our Standards!!!!!

The help and advice the staff give is an essential part of the university for all creative degrees. They are knowledgeable and very helpful and should not be underestimated in their knowledge or value
