This really helped everyone in the arts at the university and beyond to get the material they need to complete a project.

The Art Shop is important to many of us art students with quick turnaround dates; having to travel further for professional opinion would put unnecessary stress on a lot of students.

Art and movement should always be given a platform. How sad would the world be without it!

Is very useful to have supply’s close to hand for those last minuet purchases when you run out.

This art shop has been a considerable help during my time at the university; whether it be in printing supplies or spray paints all the many pens I've collected. Shutting this would be a grave mistake it is vital to students no matter what course there on.

Why are we doing this again? You need to stop trying to take the knowledge away from the students especially when the fees are rising. We fought this before - we shouldn't have to do it again

The art shop was an essential resource during my degree (3d design/fine metal) and during my time working out of the creative village. I graduated 6 years a go but my time spent in the shop was always aided by Jim who is not only knowledgable with the stock but very helpful and friendly. Getting rid of Jim And Jo would be doing a great disservice to current and future students in the arts/crafts/design departments.

You want to get rid of the art shop? The place that pretty much EVERY SINGLE ART/DESIGN/CREATIVE student uses. I get that the university hates creative people but this is crazy. I've learned so much from Jo and Jim they're a big part of my uni life as I use the art shop so often, plus it's cheaper for us students.

Had my course shut down last year as a result of these cuts, and saw a number of brilliant and capable staff members leave as a result too. The Art Shop is a fantastic source for students on campus, and swapping out the qualified and frankly well-loved staff for something otherwise makes no sense at all.

Jessica Deerhound ACTUALLY as an ex Union Rep...I dont think the university can make those workers redundant because the posts continue to exist. That is illegal. As is replacing them with other cheaper workers. The only way that can be done legally is if the company owning the shop is bought out by another company. But even then, as employees they have rights to be TUPE' d over to the new company under the same rights of employment.....if anyone can share this info with them, it might help? ACAS might get involved if it is not legal

The Art Shop, Jo and Jim are an valuable resource to all arts students at Staffs Uni. I’m appalled that Staffordshire University are considering letting them go. The art shop is always well stocked and the knowledge Jo and Jim have is irreplaceable. You cannot let them go!

The arts are just as important and the subjects considered to be academics. All students paying tuition should be given equal rights and opportunities. Don’t take away our right to art supplies

Could the committee of bean counters involved remember that bigger things are at stake? Depriving students access to such a valuable resource will affect your ‘business’ in ways you haven’t anticipated.
