Fight the ban against flowers on memorial benches!

Think it's outrageous! These people put flowers on the benches for their love one that have been lost. Don't be idiot and take this away from them

People should b allowed to lay flowers for there loved ones

Absolutely out of order, cruel and ridiculous. I am outraged.

Memorial benches are paid for by the family as a tribute and people should be able to put flowers

I can't always get to were my mother-in laws ashes are and her granddaughters like to lay flowers for her

Just removed my flowers in tears. Why? Just don't understand what is happening to my town.

Astonishing insensitivity from our appalling council. I wish I could say I was surprised!

We have a memorial bench for my grandparents and two aunties where we find great comfort to sit and reflect. We also celebrate their birthdays and passings with flowers which helps us cope with the grief. How dare DDC tell us how we can manage our grief. We will continue to place flowers.

I do think that whoever places offerings should remove them.

I know so many people that take flowers to their loved ones Memorial Benches. It brings them great Peace and to take that away from them would be so painful and wrong.

This is 'health and safety' gone stupid and mad. The flowers and trinkets are special and beautiful to look at and share!!

We find this quite discusting. We place flowers and sit on our daughters / step daughter / sisters bench to remember and grieve her . How dare you tell us we cannot do this simple act . And please tell me who is going to tell our five year old grandson that he can no longer put flowers on his mums bench so she can look down and see them . This is so wrong . And we will not be stopping it .

Absolutely disgusting and insensitive - I am just about to start the process of getting a bench for my late husband and they definitely charge an extortionate amount for these benches

I can now no longer put flowers on my nannys beautiful bench when I visit home.

Disgraceful, DDC needs to use its resources and decision making skills on things that affect the whole community and not cause more grief for bereaved people.

Loved ones should be allowed to leave flowers etc on a passed loved ones bench.. the same as anywhere else. Flowers are a mark of respect and a way for families to remember deceased family & friends. Dont take this away!

Absolutely ridiculous!! Candles maybe but flowers? Not impressed.

Disgusting, people get a great deal of comfort doing this. I cannot see what the problem is!!!
