I think this is terrible. The benches are paid for and if someone wants to put flowers on the bench in memory of their loved one, who should be able to tell them otherwise. It's an absolute disgrace.

I think the flowers etc on benches look beautiful and add to the character of the seafront.

These benches are privately owned and maintained by the individual who bought them - not the council. Suggest you spend more time and money on getting all the roads and verges in the district cleared of rubbish instead, as they're an utter disgrace.

How ignorant and hurtful of DDC to do this. Flowers and tokens are not a health and safety hazard. Beurocracy gone mad ! Why not extend this ban to graveyards , weddings etc etc . Surely there are more real health and safety issues like cars racing the streets in Deal and lack of community police. !!!

Leave memorial benches alone. They are important and can do no harm
They even brighten up the area. They are purchased by family as a memorial and you the council get the money. Hands off please

This is a ridiculous waste of everyone's time and council money. Find something more useful to do with it, please.
People care about these memorials. It's why they are there. Allow them to honour their dead, without the stupid imposition of naff politics.
