Pet owners should have the right to choose the food that is appropriate for their pet. Removing raw diets due some ridiculous zero tolerance policy will cause great harm to many.

I’d like the FDA to take a look at my dogs list of allergies and sensitivities and then find me a kibble he could eat. They would fail miserably. I worked in the pet industry for 20 years. I know just about everything about pet food. Dogs bodies are designed to process meat, not grains and other fillers, hence their short digestive tract. Why would I feed my dog something his body can’t properly digest? And even if I would do that, for me, I couldn’t. My dog has so many issues with different ingredients, there isn’t one kibble out there he can eat. I 100% stand behind ANSWERS. I should be able to feed my pet what I want to and what I need to. Why don’t they focus on something better, like the amount of obese people in this country. My guess is it has something to do with food. One can only imagine the unhealthy additives in most food that our bodies become addicted to to cause over eating. But that’s just my opinion.

I feed my dogs and cats the prey model raw diet, and they are all healthy, lean, active, and clean. Clean teeth, breath, allergy-free, minimal waste, no residue on the coats. My animals' bloodwork is always ideal, and my vet told me my cats cannot get hepatic lipidosis because they are not fed kibble. My cats also don't vomit, hairballs or anything, like many cats do.

No one is going to tell me what I can and can’t feed my dogs. This is utterly ridiculous. Waste of time and money when you have no business dictating what people feed their pets.

FDA said that all dog food
is bad. They have not done any testing not clinical or forensic.
I think big corp. pet food manuf. have BIG influence on FDA and AFFCO.
FDA was suppose to change labelling in July 2011. It still hasn't been done, Hill's, Mars, Purina are probably behind non compliance with a Congressinal Order

Raw saved my dogs life. We spent over $5,000 trying different vet recommended things to help with his allergies. Raw was our last resort before deciding to put him down. He has never looked healthier and by his mood he’s never felt better.

It is our right to feed a minimally processed diet, a.k.a. “Species appropriate diet!” to our dogs and cats!

I will always feed my dogs raw. We shouldn't have to jump through hoops to do what's right.

Maybe the FDA should monitor when pets are ingesting feces outside which is proven harmful. This is ridiculous and an absolute overreach of the government agency. Pet owners should feed their pets whatever they deem appropriate. It is a violation of our liberties and freedom.

What an outrage. The FDA should be concerned with shutting down big manufacturers producing unhealthy kibble and canned wet food causing serious health related issues in our beloved furry babies.
