Fight for Your Right to Buy Minimally Processed Pet Food

More pets are dying of cancer because they are eating over processed food. This is the big pet food companies trying to control the market. Don’t let them control what we or our pets eat.

This sounds suspiciously like big companies worried about being encroached upon. There should be no reason you can't test for salmonella in these foods like any other.

I would very much like it if the government would leave the science to the scientists and stop trying to make laws that they know nothing about. Raw feeding is helpful for many pets, it is scientifically shown. Maybe instead of trying to ban in, they could do a better job of educating people on safe usage. The FDA can't even keep salmonella out of our spinach, so what are they going to do next? Ban spinach?

I've been feeding my cats a commercially prepared raw diet for more than 10 years. If anything, it has made my cats healthier--caused my cat with long-standing digestive problems to literally overnight have solid stools for the first time in years; got a diabetic cat into remission; and keeps an 18-year-old cat healthy and according to my vet looking as young as a 12-year-old. I believe in my, and every pet owner's, right to feed the diet they and their veterinarian feel is best. And for an administration that's supposedly all about "small government," the "small government" sure is getting on people's cases about small things. Stop regulating away our right to choose what we and our veterinarians deem the best diet for our pets.

The candy bar companies should not have any say over what I feed my pets, especially since processed food is unregulated by any government entity.

My pets are mine....not yours. You do not get to choose what I feed them. That is my responsibility only. Please allow us to continue feeding our pets the diet they are meant to.

I want the option of feeding raw. My dogs are allergic to so many things and they THRIVE on raw. It is my choice.

Every pet owner has the right to make the choice to feed raw.

Feeding my cats a species appropriate raw food diet has saved their lives. No agency, no industry, NO ONE should take away my right to make my own decisions.

The healthiest pet food for dogs and cats - proven by scientific research - is raw and minimally processed food because it's closest to what these animals would eat in the wild. I want to continue to be able to buy this type of food because I truly care about my animal. The government should have NO right to limit my freedom to buy this type of food.

I will never stop feeding my dog raw. Try and stop me.

The FDA has made it clear, without the science to back it up, that they are out to get this industry without allowing pet owners to make their own decisions.

We should have control over our furry friends.

My dog has serious health issues and can ONLY eat Primal raw rabbit due to many food sensitivities. If she eats anything else she can get pancreatitis, and at 13 years old another attack could kill her.

Feeding raw food has shown such a good difference In the health of cats.

Everyone should have the right to decide what to feed their pets.
