Regulators are destroying your freedom of choice by eliminating the option of raw or minimally processed commercial pet food. Your right to purchase and feed raw or minimally processed pet food manufactured by small family and independent companies is being eroded by big business and government.
Facts
Without comprehensive sound science, regulators are trying to make raw or minimally processed pet food appear dangerous when decades of science has proven numerous animal health benefits from such foods.
Enforcement of illegal government policies in lieu of following the law has already forced some raw or minimally processed small independent pet food manufacturers to close. If regulators continue to pursue their mission, consumers will only have access to heavily-processed pet food products, many of which utilize condemned rendered meats, biodiesel by-products, and other industry waste products; not food in its intended natural state. Consumers will lose their right to access “complete and balanced,” regulated, safe raw or minimally processed pet food products, many using organic, pasture-raised, humanely handled, whole rich nutritious food ingredients.
If we don’t take action now, the right to feed our pets will be limited to only altered food mostly with chemical “nutrients.” Join Next Gen PFMA and its members in the fight to defend our right to feed real food to our pets. Help us challenge regulatory actions to restrict the sales of raw or minimally processed pet food products.
What is Being Sought Through This Petition
To respectfully request and encourage the judges, Congress, state legislatures and other oversight authorities to protect consumer rights to buy and feed raw or minimally processed pet food, and to prohibit government agencies from arbitrarily creating, without science, and enforcing Zero Tolerance Policies and Rules. I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people care about the way we feed our pets. We are nearing a significant milestone that shows people are watching, so please help get this in front of anyone else who wants to protect our choices.

I started this because I was worried about my own pets but it has turned into something so much larger than I ever imagined. The stories you are sending me about your own experiences are what keep me going when the pressure from these regulators feels overwhelming. This is entirely because of your passion for the health of your animals.

Seriously, has it come to this? Large commercial pet food companies have already contaminated many vet schools with their propaganda, but apparently that was not enough to combat their fear of loss of profits, hence attacking at a legislative level.
My cat has IBD, he got this over time from eating what the FDA and the AAFCO consider safe. Since I have switched him to raw, he is back to full health and is playing again at 14 years old. We need to be able to make this choice for our beloved pets.
I've fostered immunocompromised animals who would suffer at best on kibble. The dog I adopted has flourished on a well-researched and sourced, species appropriate raw diet and has come a long way since having oily, puss-ridden and scabbed skin.
Raw Dog food has saved my pets from the allergy medication that cause cancer. My 13 year old lab is happy and healthy (raw since 5) but would be dead right now if on a diet of kibble. No person or animal in my family has become sick from this diet!
I work for a local holistic pet food store and raw is one of our best sellers for people whose dogs have allergies or digestive issues. This is an amazing food and many of our customers love it and I don't know what their dogs would do without it.
Sounds good. My actual body loves High Fructose Corn Syrup but not table sugar. I think pets are sensitive to both equally.

My dog kept getting bladder stones prior to me putting him on the raw diet. He has had no bladder stones for 8 weeks and prior to that he has had them for 5 years and 2 surgery's to remove stones in that time period. The raw diet is helping him.
