Sadly, I lived through this situation in the 1970s and 1980s. Unfortunate for the people placed in the hotels, that a more thoughtful and humane system was devised, but this will negativley impact life on the UWS and in the end, everyone will lose out.

Lived on the UWS for the past 5 years. Have always felt safe walking home from work at night until recently :(

The plan has no regard for residents of the UWS. or for the homeless who need medical and social services.

This is very serious and needs to be rectified immediately. City Council members and mayor Deblasio get pedophiles and sex offenders out Of these hotels near playgrounds and schools. This is a family heavy neighborhood. We will remember how you handled this situation and vote accordingly.

I'm NY born & raised & moved to the UWS after college in 1986... my parents were thrilled because it was a safe neighborhood . My area in the 90's was a diamond in the rough..& I've watched this place thrive with families & older residents for 35 years. It was a safe community 24/7. Bill DeBlasio's tenure over the last 7 years has destroyed the quality of life for communities all over Manhattan & during his second term brought his destructive policies to our beautiful, formerly safe UWS neighborhood. Its starting to look like a 3rd world country up here or the "bad ole days"...& its no longer safe (especially for women) once the sun goes down. This is a travesty to see such a vibrant diverse community of thousands lose our quality of life & safety in exchange for the homeless, substance abusing men transported to our neighborhood that show a their disrespect for those who live here by their dangerous & vile behavior in our streets. I hope there is a way to overcome this... I can't afford to leave..but the moving trucks are coming every day for those that can....

We are a family of 4- 2 children. I do not feel safe with my children in the neighborhood with the recent move of homeless shelters into the 3 hotels.

Our streets have become the dirtiest that they’ve been since the 70’s. It’s becoming unrecognizable. We have been in the neighborhood for years and are considering moving. Something must change quickly.

The situation is getting out of control, last night i was in restaurant and some homeless man just threw glass to me with no reason. I did not even exchange any word with him
