I’m an upper West Side parent with 3 children. I’m disgusted and disgraced. How our mayor would fill our residential community with homeless shelters and unstable people. We have our children walking alone on the streets. What on earth were you thinking!!!!!! Get them out now!!!!

Stop converting hotels to homeless shelters. Preserve and protect our very family friendly upper west side.

Curious how this was done without any consultation with the community.

I think Basio sold out the west side...3 hotels? If there is sick a need, then spread them out...1 on WS, one on ES, one in Chelsea, one near Gracie Mansion, 1 in Bklyn by Badio's home.
The community should have known about this this BEFORE it happened.

Most leaders pride themselves on the beautification of their cities. Seems that NYC doesn’t care any more. Yes these men need and deserve a place to live. But why put sec offenders in a crowded city, so close to others ? There are many hard working people, even professional, who move out of the city because they can’t afford to live Manhattan. They build beautiful lives elsewhere. Why must a congested area like Manhattan be chosen as a place for people to live for free and put others at risk.?
The city’s tax base is dwindling because they don’t want to live in danger. Yes, black lives do matter. Don’t all lives matter?

I live on the upper west side; my kids go to school just a few hundred feet from these new shelters. It is NOT ok.

I no longer feel safe in my neighborhood. Homelessness was already an issue on the UWS. Adding hundreds of additional people (some sex offenders) within blocks is not acceptable. Shame on our local officials for the lack of transparency and notice regarding these hotels! Remove these shelters.

We deserve clean streets and safe streets for the sake of our children and comfort. Instead we are living in a dirty, dangerous, stinky and disgustingly non comfortable environment.
