In Speaker Johnson's district on W34th and around Penn Station it's the same - including public drug use. Bodies all over the street living in filthy and inhumane conditions. Shame on DHS - plenty of funding and no accountable program on how to address street homelessness including mental illness and addiction. Stepping over people is part of the landscape.

Our neighborhood & city are going back to the bad old days - street level businesses failing even before Covid & the streets being abandoned & degraded by antisocial behavior ( including bikers who ignore traffic rules wholesale) as police seem to look the other way.

Put addicts in a rehab that is not close to neighborhoods where there are a lot of children. Get it together NYC Mayor!

This neighborhood is being destroyed by progressive policies that don’t take into consideration the needs of the community. Disgraceful.

The upper west side is filthy! Trash all over Broadway in the area of 72nd street. Other areas as well. But I am more familiar with this area.
The homeless encampments under scaffolding are horrible. One guy wanders around filthy and in a daze with no shirt on. Others shout and blare music. I have been watching them move around the upper west side scaffolding areas for months. Why isn't Helen Rosenthal listening to the taxpayers!!?

Addicted men, especially this quantity, should not be placed in this residential area filled with children, elderly and schools. I feel for them, but they can get shelter in empty hotels in commercial areas, since there is no business travel, or by the airports. I am concerned for my child's safety and for the struggling restaurants in the area. The safety and well being of people who worked hard to afford to live in this area, pay taxes and support the community should come first.

We see homeless daily now at 77 and broadway spending all day in the median. There are so many more homeless in the streets near our home I do not feel safe going out as a pregnant woman with my toddler. Get rid of all of the sexual offenders! Put more police here to patrol and get us our streets back- please!!!!

My wife and my daughters do not feel safe in the neighborhood they grew up in. We moved there eleven years ago because of how family friendly the area was. Now I have to be on guard knowing that there are sex offenders and open drug users? I can’t walk down 77th street and Broadway without smelling marijuana everyday. This is not why I work so hard to pay those high rents for. There has to be a better way.

Please remove these sex offenders and place them in a different location. It is unsafe to have them so close to a school.

Our neighborhood took turn for the worse and I am seriously concerned for the safety of our children, especially teenagers who walked by themselves.

Unacceptable. Period DeBlasio and Rosenthal are killing this city and this neighborhood. DeBlasio is termed out, thank god but I will do everything I can to make sure Rosenthal is defeated by someone who is dedicated to ending this scourge on our neighborhood.
