Too many drug offenders in a residential/ school area. We need more police protection and enforcement. Families will move out and erode the tax base more.

I own an apartment on the upper west side and I spend many nights eating out . The last thing I want is to be eating with my little daughter and having homeless people and drug addicts begging me for money.

500 within the same few blocks with limited management and negligible security absolutely does not work. Lived on west 77 for 20 years and never ever have I been scared or uncomfortable until last few weeks. Would never think twice about going to grocery or drug store at 10pm and now won’t go past 9pm. CVS on broadway and 77 and doormen nearby are keeping bats on hand bc intoxicated high aggressive individuals have been harassing and in case of CVS stealing. And notion that this is to prevent Covid spreading is freaking hilarious, not a mask in sight and absolutely zero social distancing.

Please, re-home these 500 men (from Lucern, Bellclarie and Belnord) elsewhere or UWS is doomed for a very long time with public unrest, crime and filthy streets.

I am just returning from summer vacation with my 4 young children. I have been living on the west side all my life. This is the first time I can say, I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD NOR RAISING A FAMILY HERE. Get these people out of a family friendly neighborhood.WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING!!!!!!

It took years to feel safe and pleasant on the streets of UWS and it’s crucial not to let this neighborhood down and keep it safe!

My 5 year old daughter got cat calls walking with me and my 2 year old son on 77th and broadway in the median. Just yesterday she was approached by an older gentleman who was inappropriate in his tone and when he saw me trailing behind her with my son he said’Good job raising her’ and eyeballed her in a manner that made he want to pick both of my kids up and run away. Spoke to police today and they are understaffed and are trying to keep the 20th precinct safe as it has been under attack. Today at Tecumseh playground plenty of people who do not have kids were there.

This is a family oriented neighborhood well respected I’ve been here for the past 11 years you cannot bring this kind of behavior to a family oriented neighborhood thanks for the people in a higher power they could do whatever they want to the New York citizens or the cities in the US USA please remove this crowd People do not feel safe on the upper West side of New York anymore
