It is reckless and dangerous to place so many sex offenders in an area well known for young families and school children.

Hotels making $$$$$ off the back of our community. These men need proper treatment and supervision. Not just a hotel room so hotel owner makes bank....

This is not safe. The neighborhood is not the type of neighborhood where it is equipped to deal with this kind of crime and drugs. Would be dangerous for residents and children.

I am very concerned about an alarming change in my neighborhood (the 70s between B’way and Riverside Drive). Between the empty retail spaces that have multiplied in recent weeks and the influx of (temporarily?) newly housed people in the area hotels, the atmosphere on the streets has become scary and possibly dangerous. We have seen evidence of people new to the area with drugs and mental illness along with frequent disregard for social distancing and masks. I have lived in this neighborhood for almost 30 years and I find the quality of life, after continually improving over the years, suddenly diminished in a short period of time.

I also looked up how the Upper West Side compares with other neighborhoods in the amount of homeless shelters. According to this chart, we host a large amount. I would say that the Upper East Side and Greenwich Village/SoHo in Manhattan; Sheepshead Bay, Bensenhurst, and Bay Ridge in Brooklyn; and all neighborhoods in Staten Island all could bear to host more homeless shelters than they do. https://citylimits.org/2019/09/10/data-drop-which-nyc-neighborhoods-host-the-most-homeless-shelter-beds/ So I would suggest to the authorities that they move their homeless shelter to one of those neighborhoods. Best,

I’m a mother of a teenage daughter, I moved to expensive uws 8 years ago for our safety , happiness and comfort we found here. We made amazing friends who became family in our neighborhood. My child’s school playground is still where she goes to meet her childhood friends! Our shopping stores and synagogue!!! Everything is here. Recently It doesn’t feel safe! We’re already exhausted mentally, emotionally and financially with this whole covid19 nightmare. We’re a community of young parents and pets owners! Please help us here and give us a break. Helping our community and housing homeless is one thing. But having scary men jumping in front of us screaming abuse daily and known drug-addicts & sex offenders is completely something else.. this is inhuman and unacceptable. Please help

How can you expect to open schools in this, the most family-dense district in Manhattan, when neighborhood children can’t walk to school safely and without fear?

I pay for my home and I pay taxes on my home. I’m not a substance abuser and I do not have a criminal record. I work incredibly hard yes and try to put discretionary income toward Local businesses. If city management is this dysfunctional and I can find a better place for my family I’m happy to move. We want to stay in the upper West side but we will simply not compromise the safety of our loved ones for it.

I can't see how this can be safe for anyone with children.
