Mentally ill, substance abusers need treatment facilities. They’re not disposable human beings that can be dumped in hotels. Many are so ill that they target women & children in the neighborhood.

What is happening in the community I grew up in is not right, and without warning. My mom was approached by them and is scared to go food shopping. I am scared to come back home with my child. With the understanding that homelessness is prevalent because of everything that’s going on, drug users and sex offenders should not be in these communities where there are families. Someone has to have a conscious, even if it involves you getting less in your pocket for the time being.

Why not think out of the box and look at NY State-wide options instead of further jeopardizing the safety of another NYC neighborhood? Let's not place active drug users and sexual predators within a family community. Let's not further hurt our restaurants and any sense of recovery that small businesses are trying to eek out of this pandemic.
We had committed to raising our children here and now are actively looking outside the city. Where are our rights as tax payers and law abiding citizens?

This is unacceptable to have sex offenders placed into a tightly packed residential neighborhood near schools and playgrounds.

I feel very unsafe in my neighborhood now since this latest development of the influx from the 3 hotels, and there has got to be a change. I have lived in this neighborhood for 17 years and never felt this unsafe or scared for myself or my fellow neighbors and families. The homeless have been very aggressive while I walk on the street and pose a threat to all of us. I see encampments and caught someone stealing a bike where the police was called just yesterday and took one of the homeless men away.

Helen Rosenthal + Bill DeBlasio have made a bad situation (Coronavirus shutdown) worse by introducing registered sex offenders and drug addicts en masse to a residential community. Unfortunately, people vote more with their feet than at the voting booth, and as a result, the net exodus from NYC pre-corona is now accelerated. With those residents goes the tax base, spending at restaurants/ stores, kids for per capita public school funding, real estate values, safety and quality of life. What the prior two mayors did in 20 years, DeBlasio quickly undermined and now its completely fallen apart. Thanks especially to Helen Rosenthal for bringing public drug use, public urination, violent crime and literal garbage to the streets of the UWS. "Do you know who you're talking to?" Yes, Helen, we are talking to the person whose salary we pay. Answer the emails and phone calls we've been making for YEARS and DO WHAT WE ASK OF YOU. You've ignored us since you got into office.

Totally unacceptable. You moves criminals into a residential neighborhood one block from PS 87. People are documenting scary videos and experiences. Please move them to a more appropriate neighborhood.
Please cleanup the upper westside.
