We’d be much happier if we helped families with children! Also these men are not wearing masks or social distancing, forcing people to walk in the middle of the street. Many are drugged out, yelling on the street. I do not feel safe going on Broadway, even in the daytime.

My children are no longer safe in our neighborhood. That is a terrifying thought. There had to be a better way.

We must clean up the quality of life Issues on the Upper West Side. Life there is disgusting, and has been that way for way to long now. Your decision to bring chronically homeless, mentally ill patients to the hotels on the Upper West Side is completely ill conceived. We need better leadership in office. This is without for thought and utterly reprehensible — with zero regard and present for the tax paying, law abiding residents and citizens ot the Upper West Side. Every elected official that condoned this move should be voted out of office. You solution is short sighted, without merit and completely lacking in problem solving skills. This was lazy, obvious and convenient. And completely short term and repellent to every resident of the upper west side. Shame on you for not having a bigger imagination and capacity for problem solving. Please fix this now.

The west side cannot go back to what to was in the 70's, we have worked hard to make it a beautiful residential neighborhood, let's keep it that way

I have two daughters under 8 and a newborn son. We are living in an unsafe environment due to the placement of men with mental illness on each path to school. Please consider how scary and hard it is to bring a child back to school in covid, but then to add risks to their walks to and from school and the playgrounds steps from these hotels (now shelters). What is the draw to stay in this neighborhood if we don’t have safety for our babies, mothers and fathers? Why shouldn’t we leave if our tax money is making things worse for families trying to make it in nyc?

I have middle schooler who walk to school on their own. So do many other families that could not afford babysitters to walk children to and from school. What about the safety and well being of these children? This is a huge concern.
