This situation has gotten absurdly out of hand. NYC pays billions in tax dollars to support homeless/addicted individuals, because we care. That does not mean that our safety, quality of life and property values should be sacrificed as well. Do. Something.

I am a single woman who lives on 72nd and Columbus. I often work late nights and walk home alone. I have felt extremely threatened and been repeatedly harassed by these men. UWS is filled with young children and elderly. This is NOT the neighborhood for this.

The number of homeless in hotels here must be greatly reduced.

With tons of empty spaces in other boroughs & outside of nyc pls move the homeless from upper west side .. doesn’t make sense to warehouse people in hotels indefinitely & with no real purpose

Our family friendly, peaceful UWS neighborhood has become a cesspool of drunken hollowed eyed drug infested zombies harassing people on the street. This must end.

How is this not a public safety issue when this neighborhood had a disproportionate number of shelters in comparison to other parts of the city to begin with?
A shelter with sex offenders on the same block as an elementary school? Shameful.
This is not a race issue. This is not a socioeconomic issue. This is a public safety issue. Stop painting it as anything else.
There are PLENTY of black and brown, working class folks like myself, who want these shelters gone.
We care about the safety of our families also.

It is grossly unfair for the UWS to be burdened with most dangerous homeless men. While we understand they need housing, a residential neighborhood is not the right location. We should not have to watch out for needles, suffer physical attacks, and have our community deteriorate overnight. Please relocate these men (they are not from this neighborhood) back to their neighborhoods or to a non-residential neighborhood. Stop picking on the UWS!

Our family moved to the UWS because it was safe, had great schools, wonderful parks, abundant public transportation, and a sense of community. While everyone needs a safe place to sleep, these men are not from this family neighborhood and have created a dangerous living situation. Two of the homeless hotels are within a block to two blocks of our home. Why did de Blasio pick on the UWS to bear the burden of the most dangerous homeless men? Please relocate all of these men to a non-residential neighborhood, immediately.

The entire upper West side is overloaded with homeless lowlife alcoholic/crackheads because of our local leader ship, enough is enough I went through this once before in the 70s and 80s and I’m not doing it again.
