There is no amount of protocol, process, police, etc. that will make this situation acceptable, livable, etc. Why?
Plain and simple: Because homeless, drug addicted, troubled men (some who are sex offenders) and children should NEVER EVER mix. NEVER. It's clear cut. This topic can be discussed and debated ad nauseam, but the truth of the matter is homeless, drug addicted, troubled men and children should NEVER EVER mix. When making any decision, the prudent, responsible, logical and moral way to determine whether to go forward (or not) for everyone involved is to consider upside potential vs. downside risk. If the downside risk is too significant (i.e. deal breaker), you don't move forward. In this particular case, homeless, drug addicted, troubled men (some are sex offenders) should never have been moved into The Lucerne, the Belleclaire, and the Belnord Hotels because the downside risk (i.e. it being unsafe for our children and our larger community because these hotels are located right near schools) is not acceptable, not livable, not do-able. Hence, the decision should be overturned. Troubled, drug-addicted homeless men should be moved out of these hotels immediately. Anything less than that is unacceptable and will not serve us well.

Would you buy a home in a neighborhood where homeless shelters housing drug addictis, sex offenders, and recently released inmates with criminal records, almost equal the number of schools in a 7 block radius ?

I loved the city but DeBlasio is on purpose destroying it because he is a Communist and wants the city to be like Cuba.

I am a single woman who frequents this radius of activity and I do not want to be frightened for my safety every time I leave my house. I’m already fearful of Covid and the normal fears someone like me would have walking around the city solo. But I paid a lot of money to live here so I can feel safe. Now that is compromised. Please relocate these folks safely.

The UWS is starting to resemble the file - Escape from New York.

Please send an email to everyone who has signed this petition all of the elected officials names and contact info so that we can all contact and pressure them directly including Rosenthal. We have all lost 30% in market value over last few months.

I have noticed an increase of homeless and panhandlers on certain sections of Broadway that harass you walk by. They also leave a lot of trash on the street.

You’re paying for offending pedophiles to be housed in luxury hotels? This is where tax dollars are going? You only had them in jail for about 5 years? I’m so disgusted. Offending pedophiles should be punted into the pacific to see how far they can swim.
Horrifying.

DeBlasio needs to clean up our city, including the UWS, which now feels extremely unsafe with hotels turned into homeless shelters blocks from numerous schools. Where are the police to keep the city safe? No cops at the 72nd Street subway station when woman was stabbed in broad daylight? 12noon. We NEED OUR POLICE AND WE NEED SAFETY!

Wake up folks - AND GO VOTE!!! it’s always so great to be popular in conversations and say how we support the progressive administration and movement of nyc...until the failed policies get to YOUR back yard. Walk the hell up!!! The city is bankrupt, crime is 10 fold what it used to be, we are the most unfriendly place for business...hooo yes I said business, business is what gets middle income and low income residents good jobs so they can take care of their families, and get ready for the entire north east homeless population to make their way to nyc so they can live in a luxury hotel next to you. Folks, I am a Democrat, I don’t like Trump, but god blessed me abs you with a brain and memory of the “book” of how to ruin the best city in the world...congratulations to the progressive movement for doing it in the fastest time ever...can you do something? If course!!! Take a break from being the gold course abs from shopping at lulu and go VOTE so that people who really care about this city can cone back to power and take care of ALL nyc residents!!! It’s on US now it’s on YOU!!! I love you all and I love this city which is why I care....let’s get this city back on its feet!!! ❤️

The cities responsibilities now now become a neighborhood nightmare. Do we really need to see men doing drugs, masturbating and saying lewd comments to woman that walk by? DeBlasio is a train wreck with no ideas of what he's doing...
