We need politicians who have their taxpayer’s best interest at heart to preserve a safe place to live.

What is happening to our City and especially in our communities is truly a tragedy. Where is the Mayor and the Governor and their teams? They have deserted us and put us at risk!

Why does it seem that the UWS has been more adversely affected than other neighborhoods? If you move around the city you see the most trash on the UWS streets, you see many more encampments and people sleeping on the streets, doing drugs openly, and many who wander about with hostility either due to mental illness, drug use, or simply due to the lack of services to help them manage and/or overcome a situation that will, without those services, eventually lead to imprisonment, illness, death. The policies that have been put in place help no one. And where is the resourceful thinking? Why not collaborate with the Doe Fund or other community efforts to train homeless people how to give back to the community, clean the streets, earn an income and/or a sense of purpose from community service?

End this unsustainable situation that is unfair to homeless people getting no services and to upper west side citizens seeking a SAFE environment for families and children!

I live on the upper west side. I’m hitting the homeless wandering all over the neighborhood drunk...stoned...the city is getting dangerous and filthy. We need shelters for these people. Just like when Bloomberg was mayor!
