While my husband and I reside in the midwest, our youngest lives in the UWS. We are carefully monitoring the situation and the fact that the neighborhood was left out of any decision making while mentally ill and addicted persons were uprooted and transplanted without any supporting mental health services. What good can come of this? You have alienated the law abiding residents and created an unsustainable, unsanitary situation for the unwell individuals. Shame on you Mayor DeBlasio. Please reverse this decision and truly look out for all concerned.

I own an apartment at 336 West End Ave. I choose the neighborhood because it was a safe place to live. I want it to stay that way.

The fast decline of our safety on the uws seems to be a matter of money and no one wants to admit they made a mistake. Fix this!

UWS has hosted more than its share of mentally ill and drug dealing homeless.tax dollars should be used for Social services and transition to independent living

The people who need help are not getting the help as evidenced by the encampments and street behaviors.
We should not be victimized because the city cannot fulfill its commitments to help those less fortunate- and that is what is happening.

I have seen drug use and lewd behavior on the sidewalks nearby and I feel unsafe as a young woman walking in my neighborhood.

The city is becoming overrun by aggressive homeless people, spitting, chasing, and harassing innocent people (which has happened to me). They are shooting up with needles and heroin in broad daylight. Slashings are occurring. It has become unsafe to live in NYC and everyone is starting to move out. Please fix our city before it crumbles.
