This online petition has been created to try and get as much support as possible against the FIFA directive which states:

"If tape or similar material is applied externally it must be the same colour as that part of the stocking it is applied to."

Not only is this ruling frivolous but it is giving the officials of the game a more difficult job.
It is an extra cost for amateur clubs who are already struggling in a tough financial climate.
It could also prove an administrative headache for the local football governing bodies or County FA organisations.

We the undersigned think this ruling should be repealed, especially for Level 7 clubs and below.
We the undersigned think FIFA should be concentrating on the real issues affecting the game.
We the undersigned think clubs have enough trouble trying to survive without making sure they have the right colour tape purchased every week.

We the undersigned think FIFA are out of touch with the grass-roots game and this directive proves how distanced they have become from the game we all love.

If FIFA are determined that this ruling is obeyed then they should consider cancelling a few of their delegate visits or make your officials pay for their own hotels, taxis and dinner just once each a year and use the money to set up a tape fund for struggling clubs.

Maybe then you will take notice to the impact these weakly concocted yet strongly dictated rulings have on those who are trying to keep the game alive.
