If you do not want Ford\'s new B-Car to be called the Ford Fiesta in the US please sign your name to this petition. Derrik Kuzak, Ford Group Vice President of Global PD, has said "The Ford Verve will be called the Fiesta in the US. The Fiesta does very well in the rest of the world and the new version will be car of the year. I want that positive association from the rest of the world to come here because we can\'t afford to spend our advertising resources educating people in a new name." I believe we are going to have to spend the same advertising resources marketing the new B car\'s existance in the US regardless of what it\'s called because the Fiesta name died over 20 years ago and simply has no positive equity for those that do remember it. There are many examples of global vehicles which are renamed in local markets (Honda Fit, Toyota Yaris, Scion...). So if you do not want Ford\'s new B-Car to be called the Ford Fiesta in the US please sign your name to this petition. On Thursday February 28, a respectful e-mail was sent to Ford CEO Allan Mulally with a link to this petition and a summary of insightful reasons against the naming strategy.
