Without space for kids to enjoy healthy competition body and character and building activities, New York diminishes itself as a truly livable city. We need more space so families will continue to thrive here rather than flee to attractive cities with lower taxes and open spaces. Do the right thing and conserve our tax base. Make recreation space a priority.

As a parent of a child enrolled in GVLL, I've witnessed first hand the high demand for the limited space at Pier 40. Additional space allotment for youth and adult sports is a great need, especially in light of halted repairs of the Pier 40 facility.

We desperately need this situation to have the appropriate attention and action from our public officials. We have a huge number of families and kids who need this addressed in order to make the quality of “family” living in downtown Manhattan acceptable.

Real estate is so lucrative in Manhattan that developers will try to use every available space. We need our elected officials to step up to the plate (pun intended) and set aside more public land for ballfields for kids to play on.

These fields are so important for the kids, families and all of the NYC community. We really need more facilities for sports. We shouldn’t have to fight to keep what we have.

Sport field space is CRITICAL to our youth in the village; both our children (male and female) have benefited greatly from what currently exists.

Kids need access to more outdoor play areas and ball fields for all sporting activities including baseball basketball, soccer, volleyball, etc.
