The broadcasters wouldn't show commentators or just the home team in football / rugby so why do it in athletics / track and leave out field.

Especially the throws as normally only two or three are shown, when we are watching people run around a track for more than 5 mins it starts to get tedious so just throw in some earlier performances and then come back to the race at the end. They used to do this far more often but it still wasn't really enough, I'm sure even the dedicated 10,000m fans wouldn't have a problem with missing 30 seconds in a race that lasts almost 30 mins

Its about time more field events were shown on TV, its not a second rate part of athletics yet we are treat to the presenters talking for long periods of time about track events when we could be watching the field events. Even the likes of Olympic Champion Greg Rutherford is relegated to may oe or 2 of his jumps being aired. Track athletics is becoming predictable and Kim Collins recently commented Shot Putt is becoming more interesting than track athletics

As an experienced throws coach in the South West, I always become frustrated and angry when throws are not shown on the T.V championships. Especially when discussions on races completed are extensive whne championship throwing is actually going on at the same time. How are we to inspire our young throwers when they do not receive the same support by T.V coverage which track events are given. With Steve Backley we have one of the worlds most knowledgable commentator on throws , particularly javelin, which is the most challengeing event of all, and which we need to encourage widely.

As a parent of an aspiring thrower (11 year old daughter) I believe it is important to give these events as much coverage as those on the track. Allowing future competitors the chance to watch their idols compete, to watch their techniques and learn from them.

As the parent of a thrower I am often left disappointed at the lack of coverage and am sick of commentators waffling on when they could be showing a throwing event or at least the highlights

We must have fair coverage of all action at athletics meetings

Do not understand why as viewers we are not given the opportunity to enjoy the field events. It is an insult to those athletes who are so dedicated and train just as hard as the track athletes. Wake up BBC give the public what they want to see and enjoy.

Hi Just wanted to say that this is a great idea and I hope more people support this campaign as a former thrower and now a throws coach the lack of coverage on the BBC every year is so disappointing and makes it harder to encourage kids into our sport.

I believe it is vital that field events get TV coverage to both encourage and support the growth of the events. I would much rather see Javelin discus shot or hammer especially British athletes than listen to TV presenters filling time. For the events to grow British audiences need to see British athletes competing. Athletes aiming to be internationals and Olympians need to know their work will be recognised. There is a lot of interest in audiences seeing our own British talent. Don't underestimate people power if this is not taken seriously

Less re-runs of sprints please and every boring step if 10ks. More throws and jumps.

We get no exposure whatsoever! God forbid we shall see a field event instead of 15 replays of a running event!
