I dont see the problem with the fence. But I do have a problem with the city, getting mad because the owners question the validity and suddenly their well documented business is suddenly an issue. Come on tit for tat

It’s reasonable to have a fence for the child to play safely. An exception should be made in this case as there is plenty of reasonable cause!

This fence is necessary for a child with special needs to keep them safe. This must remain in place or the city will assume all responsibility for this child's safety.

My son is an eloper too. We did a very similar thing, fence in an area of our front yard with play items. Raven's yard is beautiful! Ours is not as nice by any means. This fence needs to be seen as a medical device to keep a child safe.

It would be a shame if this precious child couldn't play outside like her peers. All because of something as simple as a fence . A fence? Please reconsider making them tear down this fence that is beautiful in more ways than one.

To the City that is being so inconsiderate of this family's needs.. Small eloping children are a risk to themselves and the community when they run straight out onto a road. I've see cars swerve to avoid a running child, others stop and be rear ended..
The fence may not be within your permitted requirements.. SO CHANGE THEM!!! offer some exceptions to the rule!
from a parent of an eloping child who has been the one stopping for a child running across the road, narrowly missing them and pulling over in utter shock after such an event.. it stays with you and you are putting more than just this one child at risk.. you are putting the community at risk by not allowing this family to mitigate the risk to YOUR COMMUNITY!!
