I passed a couple of bad checks which was felony charges. But a guy in cook county il who has been convicted of two counts of armed robbery???? How is it I'm more dangerous than him?

I believe that felons with non-violent charges should be able to still have permits to carry weapons.

Husband is a felon on non violent crimes, with no weapons involved. No reason he shouldn't have all his rights back. Its been 12 years since he did his time.

25 year old Felony DWI. Married , 4 sons, a grandson, got DL back, right to vote back but lost my Second Amendment.This is not right. I was not involved in an accident. I do not drink and attend Church on a regular basis. MADD has turned into an anti gun organization and has no right to dictate my constitutional rights.

Business owner, husband, father, tax payer, tax payer, tax payer, voter, community server, state champion in shooting sports at age of 14, and a felon for driving too fast on a motorcycle being an irresponsible kid! All dues plus some have been paid back! All grown up now! I want my gun rights back. I'm an American!!

this is something that needs to done.like has been said before.at which point is enough.....enough.debt has been payed however we get a life sentence of not being able to hunt or defend our families?we all did our time.went through the countless hoops.when is enough...enough?then want to take our amended rights away for life.i do not agree.and ill join this fight to change these rediculous laws.its stacking everything against a person who has been through all the many trials.i agree this is a crime on humanity.how can they stack countless sanctions on someone.then take thier amended rights away for life even after they payed thier societal debt in full?somethin needs to be changed.i didn use a gun in commission in my crime.becuase i grew up around them.i know their potential.i know gun safety.of course i would lock them in a safe if i had them in my home.and always have them mags ejected n kepr out.and always on safe locked away.this is commom knowledge.i mean this could be a good thing.becuase its proven.its not criminals going out and doing these killing sprees.its some person society hasnt noticed.has no type of criminal record.and goes off on a rampage.so that criminal argument is null and void anymore.my point as this could be good.i beleive it will give those who care a reason to stay on a good path.please mr president give us our rights back.and even if thiers stages of offenses let it work out in stages of degree.as long as didn kill oruse a gun in your crime.let us have them back.let us enjoy our american right and be equal as any other man.

Time is lost. Fees and fines are paid. Punishment has been served. To still be branded a felon for a non-violent crime and lose the right to bear arms is too much. It is bad enough to have such a black mark on your personal record that will follow you around forever. Potential jobs are lost, professional licenses to further careers are denied. In Nevada hunting and carrying guns is pretty common place. To not be able to hunt for your own food to eat? Or protect your home? A single female living alone, yet unable to protect herself in this way seems very unfair. If they are in fact taken away at the time of conviction, there should somehow be a way to pay your debt to society, prove you had made a mistake and learned from it, and be able to restore this right.

I'm a non-violent offender that was convicted under "guilty by association". I live in Arkansas which I believe is one of the very few states that if seceded from the union would more than self sustain.. I can no longer protect myself/household, hunt, or train recreationally with a firearm the same way I did when I served my country in the Army... I want my 2nd amendment right restored!!!

I did something stupid when I was young, over 30 years ago, I was convicted (to quote the judge "to appease certain members of the community"), I did my time, I learned my lesson, I've served in the army and been ISSUED a rifle (and trained to use it to kill!) yet I can not get a hunting rifle? WHY!
